Default F22 Head

Looking for a SOHC Vtec head for my f22a1 non vtec.

Do they have anything like that, and if so, does anyone know any good sources?

Well you would run into many of the same issues as a Vtec/Ls needing oil lines and such--this assumes the heads are a direct interchange.

Since F22/23 Vtecs can be had usually cheap from someone giving theirs away after an H22 swap your best bet would be to source on of there engines. I'm a huge fan of the F-series and think you should pursue the route whether you swap for a Vtec or build a non-Vtec performere. I think you could build up you non-vtec to Vtec like power and maybe more the downside is you would loose some of your fuel economy in the process. You may also want to look into other F22 non-Vtecs some of the latter models made more power then the F22A1. But beware you may have trouble getting one of the tranny mounts to fit your car. So you may need to keep your stock tranny if it fits the newer engine. A better non-Vtec F would save you the trouble of mounting the Vtec solenoid wires and such.

Just find a F22b2... the 145hp VTEC model... swap that into your car... your tranny you have now will work, so all you need is the motor and ecu... the solenoid is part of the head... mounted right behind the valve cover... you'll have to wire that and the knock sensor to the ecu.

Or you could just save your cash keep the Accord a daily driver and work on that Civic you list in your header. Much cheaper to build a Civic....
