Default shaking, only one time....?

ok, about a week ago i got up to go to work in the morning and i turned my car on and it was shaking probably 3X as much as a normal idle.i thought it was a little weird, but then i put it in reverse to back out and it shook even worse, so i went about a car length, then put it in drive and moved it back to it's position, it shook just as bad in drive.
i tried a few minutes later and got the same results. so i fortunately had another car to take to work(it was really bad and i was scared to drive it), i came home after about 4 hours for lunch break and i tried my car and it worked normally.
i had used the car the night before and it was fine, and i've used it all this week, and no sign of any problem. So my question is, does anyone know what could have caused it to do this, and is it something i need to worry about in the future? thanks,

i have not had the problem with my car, but i once had some water or trash in my gas, and it caused my truck to idle in much the same way as you described. i drove it around the block and after a little smoking and drivin horrible, it ran ok. i have not had this problem again since then

I think it's just water in the tank. Get some dry gas or octane booster and you will be fine.

my car did the same thing when the tranny started to go. don't mean to freak you out or anything, it's prolly nothing.
