Default cold air intakes for $60?

i've been flipping through a sport compact car magazine and seeing advertisements for cold air intakes for $60, just about all of them are brands I've never heard of, I don't wanna get anything cheap (quality wise) but $60 sounds nice for an intake instead of the $160 or so for the aem intake I want, I guesss what my question is would you guys buy an intake for $60 or so?
And do you think it would be of cheap quality?

i wouldn't trust a 60 intake. You get what you pay for.

it doesn't matter if you get an injen or a generic model, its a tube with a filter at the end. **** the filter is whats most important so yeah make a tube or buy one for cheap, ive seen cold air for cheaper than 60, and then get like a K&N filter or a dragon or something. I have injen intake on my accord and we put a generic one on to see if it would be any different, nope no change what so ever. The injen came with my car and its a 175 dollar intake, i would never pay that especially since it doesn't do a damn thing different then a 15 dollar one except say injen on it.

i bought one of the 60$ ones off ebay, im waiting for the UPS man to deliver it. when i get it im gonna trade air filters with my friend. hes got a ractive heat sheilded one from his del sol that he totalled, i need it because my fender liner is gone in the right fender and i don't want water splashing on it from my tires.

the reason why Injen and AEM are so damn expensive is because they are smog legal....the generic ones will work fine if you dont have to worry about emissions.
