Default Rebuild or Swap?

I have a f22a1 in my 91, and I want a stronger/better motor. Would I be better off rebuilding it from the bottom up, or just getting a new motor? I want an NA setup. The major factor is that the motor has 200k on it.

If you rebuid you will have 0 miles on it... You will have to do the research yourself... I am facing the same thing rebuild or H22 or B16.... The rebuild will cost aprox to do it right as much as a H22... But then you can't do anything else to it.... But with the H22 you can get good reliable Hp with out doing a whole lot with it, but you are limited on how hp you can get out of it.... The B16 is mor expensive but can produce unreal Hp N/A, Turbo, or S/C... i have heard of some 600+hp turboed b16's... Its on a matter of how much money you want to spend and what your limits are gonna be after its finished... I know I am a newbie, but I had to go somewhere after all the people on the other forum lost there minds!!! lol

93.... I was thinking about it, but then I got a calculator out and started adding up all the possibilities.... You can spen a ton of money on a B16..... The 600+hp engines, well I will put it this way.... I would rather have a porche..... Don't forget you can put any motor in any car!!!

Yeah but when I say I was gonna do a b16 swap... I meant full internals, full head work, everything a machine shop can od to a motor, stroker kit, then about 50psi..... Thats all the torque any body needs!!!

For the price your going to be spending to get that b16 Just into the car, you could have a H22 sitting in there. You will get way better results out of it, B-series motors are for Civic's and teg's, not Accords.....

Is there a rule book on what motor goes in what?? I have a friend getting ready to order his H22... Its going in a 93 civic hatch.... You can put any motor in anything!!! And I am not going to do a B16, I was considering it.... I just couldn't afford to spen 50g's on a stupid motor..... With a H22 you are a little more limited to how much you can spend..... I mean the Import Draggers are putting 150g's + in those motors and they are running B16's B18's... I know how I am If I can have it done or do it to a motor I won't be satisfied until its done, and I don't have the wallet to support a b16..... That would be a dream engine... I agree that the most economical way is the H22 then a little motor work and a S/C and your ready to roll and only about 6g's poorer...

dude.... putting a b16, even with a stroker kit... yadda yadda yadda, in an accord is just silly. sure the hp numbers look good on a b16, however thos hp numbers are worthless if you don't have the torque to get into the power band. bottom line the accord is way too heavy to be effective with a b16 under the hood. on an accord the H22 is the way to go if you want a full NA setup. f-series engines are my personal favorite for FI setups because with slight modification they can be made to handle stupid amounts of boost.

another note.... the import draggers you talk about also use about a 100hp shot of n2o to spool up those retarded big turbines under the hood. does that mean it's effective or streetable? the answer is no. also they're running that in a civic, CRX, or teg frame.

and another note... the fastest NA honda in the world is a CRX with a built H22 under the hood. it runs the 1/4 in about 10.5-11 secs. for a NA setup H22 is the way to go.
