Quick question, 2003 Accord
I bought the 4 door V6 sedan EX because the dealer gave me an amazing price with every possible option (minus navigation). I actually got it with 5 miles on it and i ripped it like 3 or 4 times before i hit 100. Since I found out about taking it easy, i havent and im at 290+ now. My foot is itching. =D~
On a side note i'm also looking to get the windows tinted and the dealership said there is no legal limit in NYC, im finding that hard to believe. Is there a limit, and what do you guys feel looks the best on a tan accord w/ light interior and wood trim.
thanx

Thats cool...yea my parents paid 25,000...200 month...with a 24 month lease.Something like that... My dad was willing to walk out and not buy the car so they met his needs haha....Our is green with tan interior. thing hauls ass in low speeds and high rpms huh? He is thinking of getting the new 6-speed coupe V6. Suposed to be runnin 14's in the 1/4 mile.
But I say for your Accord, Tint the windows as legal as you can. Look up more info, before you do it though. And drop it a 1 1/2 to 2 inches. See how the stock gun-metal wheels look on that. latz

they don't know what they're talking about. I believe the limit in NY is 35% (on the front windows)....thats what I would go with if I were you. Its dark, but not too dark.

I'd say take it back and tell them you made a mistake and you'll wait for the 6sp
Congrats on the new car though:thumbup:

yeah i was looking at 35%, the place the dealer recommended charges $150 for a sedan. Now i know its good quality and it goes to the edge, but i still think im being screwed over cuz its associated with the dealership.

First of all, they make Accords and Acura TLs on the same line. That was really interesting. I was surprised to see that EVERY Accord and TL that comes off the line immediately gets driven over to a dyno and is run up to redline in every gear and reverse. They said that they make sure every car that ships makes the right amount of power. Any car that doesn't make the cut gets taken to the side and torn down for inspection.
The plant our guide said that modern engines are built to such tight tolerances that break in is fairly instant and these parts are built to take and thrive under such use.
So I won't worry too much when I take delivery of my '03 Accord LX tomorrow. I'll just drive it normally.
However, I always feel it's not a good idea to beat on machinery it you want it to last. Running smoothly up to redline is a lot easier on parts than on/off jerkiness and abrupt throttle inputs.
