my VIS hood wont fit in my 98 accord 4 door...it latches on but it wont latch on so that it locks the hood in...so basically my hood can be opened by anyone right now...anyone know how i can get it so that it will fix...lmk i really need the help...thanx

 

There might be something either in the engine bay or on the hood itself that is stopping it from latching securely.

 

You might have gotten a 2dr hood and not a 4dr hood. just a thought.

No, my CF hood does the exact same thing. Its because the latch is there just for safety. The hood is meant for use with hood pins and the latch is just there for the half lock that it only latches. The only thing you can do is get pins. I just bought the locking ones, they are pretty bad ass.

 

they should be made to latch completly... you might have to adjust the little rubber bumpers that the hood rests on... the ones that twist in to lower their height.

everyone I know with a CF hood they close just fine... just remember not to slam them closed, as they might seperate.

The hood latch itself may have to be adjusted as well.

 

Have you tried pushing it down hard? Don't let it drop, but just give it a good push when it's down already. My hood doesn't fit too well cuz the latch is a bit off. I hate the hood pins, but it's what keeps my hood from flying away at high speed.

 

check the hood latch...also check the rubber stoppers that help support the hood......those may need to be adjusted and those may be holding it up...
