Default Tokico, H&R, Comptechs and Groupbuycenter.

Hey everyone,
I've put together a little suspension kit for myself and wanted to know what people thought. First off I wanted a no frills, nothing fancy improvement. Here it goes. I'm ready to buy Comptech Swaybars front and rear, H&R OE springs (I don't want a drastic height change at all, bad roads around here and I want to keep a comfortable ride) and Tokico HP Performance shocks. I picked these componants because they are simple and low maintenance, but will improve my handling without compromising ride quality.

Another thing, I'm buying the shocks off of GroupBuyCenter.com for $315 shipped. Anyone have any experiences from GroupBuyCenter? This guy has his own site and says he gets them straight from Tokico. It's www.protege5online.com. He seems pretty cool and he's always listing these shocks so I know he has access to a lot of them.

Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks.

I have not a had a problem with vendors on GBC. Just look at the customer comments section cause there are some bad vendors, although the have been pretty good about kicking off most them.

That should be a good set-up for something really mild.

What do you think of keeping my stock shocks with the Comptechs and H&Rs?

I been on stock shocks with H&R Sports for 18 months now, no problem. If you have the money, go for the new shocks. Your performance will be a little better, and performance shocks should last longer. But I have no real complaints about my ride, smooth and just firm enough.

If you got a newer car with say less than 50K, I think you'd be ok for awhile.

My car has high, highway miles. The shocks are still performing well, I'll have to take a good look at my finances. Do you know if it is cheaper to have the springs and shocks put in all at once or will putting them in at seperate times cost more?

It seems prices for 6th gen jump because it was the current model. Hopefully after more stuff comes out of the new Accord the 6th gen stuff will be a little cheaper.

yes you save yourself half the money by doing it all at once. In order to put springs on you must disassemble them from the strut and reassemble them. If you do it separately you basically pay twice for the same work. That's another reason why most of suggest doing both at the same time.

If you dont have the money for everything now, then do the springs and shocks at a diffferent time than the sways since they aren't tied in with similar labor or anything like that.

Like AccordSleeper said, the labor for installing the springs or sways is exactly the same, so you can pay for labor(~$150) once and do both at the same time or do it separately and pay the labor twice.

Also if you are afraid of a harsh ride, getting the adjustable shocks will let you fine tune the ride making it harder/softer as you like it, so take that into consideration also.
