Default 2000 Accord air conditioning problem

The air conditioning in my car (2000 Honda Accord EX) suddenly stopped working overnight. None of the lights on the climate control panel work and the only function still working is the adjustment for the fan speed. I can't change where the air is blowing, turn on the AC or change the temp of the air, turn on the defrost, turn on the recirculate air feature, etc. All the other lights in the car still work. I took it to a repair place today and after all their tests (and putting more freon in it- which didn't help since I can't turn the AC on at all!), they concluded that I need a new AC control unit-- for $375 + labor. Questions: Does this diagnosis sound reasonable? Are there any other (cheaper) potential causes I should have checked before I commit to it? Is this a reasonable price? Thanks!

Since the fan speed adjustment still works, I don't think it's just a blown fuse, but I'd check just to be sure.
