washed engine this morning and let it dry all day in the sun, i started the car this afternoon and now the engine light came on and started to run rough especially when i give it some gas any idea what the problem could be, or what sensor it could be?

 

A good starting point would be to read the error codes.

 

Did you cover up electrical components before washing the engine? You could have shorted something out if water got into the fuse box or distributor.

 

You should disconnet your battery for 5 minutes and then reconnect. Only disconnect the positive terminal.

Also make sure you have the radio code if you have a stock radio.

It might be that the parts are dried now but the code is there. So resetting the computer might resolve this issue.

You will know if the problem still exist.

 

Figured it out! Had rinse the engine a little too much and got some water inside the distributor cap, dried the cap and did a little TLC around that section and reseted the computer and all works good.
