Question about warped rotors
i had this problem about a year ago... so i just changed my rotors to brembo crossdrilled/slotted. it made a world of difference. i use to feel the whole car shake, not just the stering wheel. if your car only shakes at high speeds, it could also be your tires. have you checked your air pressure and/or balance of your tires?
My 02 accord V6 is at the dealership today getting the rotors turned on it. They told me that interstate driving (65mph and up) warps the rotors quicker. If you're still stopping with stock **** then it should be covered under warranty, brake pads aren't.
99% of the time, modern day rotors don't really warp. The term "warp" is a misnomer. What really happens is when you use oem pads and run your brakes really hard the pads cannot disipate the heat quickly enough. This causes the pads to "breakdown" and permanately deposit some of the pad material onto the rotor. The pad material does not deposit evenly though and that is why you get the vibration or pulsing from your brakes. The simple way to fix this is to have your rotors turned. This will scrape the deposited pad material off of your rotor and give you smooth braking once again.
This common condition has symptoms just like a true "warped" rotor would have. Also, the fix is the same for both conditions so it doesn't really matter if you call them warped or not. I just thought you might like to know what is really going on.

the myth about warped rotors
noel
I had my rotors on my car for about a year and a half. ( Power slot rotors ) I can't stand them.... My car vibrates even at 40 mph and up. When I hit the brakes she pulls a little. My shop guy told me that the best brake pads are from the dealer. I called Man honda and they told me. My rotors couldn't be turned. I will soon replace them with regular rotors and honda factory brake pads. My tie roads have been replaced, new tires all the way around new struts, springs and it still is crazy it vibrates alittle. Enough to make me think about this all the time. Rims are straight and I figure this one out. Even my bushings are okay. Help
