95 Accord fuel filter help!

95 Accord fuel filter help!
Hi, I have a 1995 Accord 4 door, 2.7L.
I just purchased a fuel filter, found it under the hood. But before I begin I need some help.
Ive heard everyone say "take off the cap to releive pressure".. What about the fuel pump? Cant I just disconnect the fuel pump and let it run until the engine dies? another way? There must be a cleaner way then the gas cap and splooge method. Oh and where is my pressure release vavle or button on my 95 anyway? anyone know?
