Default Battery draining, dont know why

My coworker just picked up an 87 accord for a winter car. His brand new battery drains after a day and the only clue is a light on the dash that says, door and a seatbelt light that never go off. I have no clue, just posting for my buddy. Thanks

start the car... and while its running disconnect the battery negative cable... if the car stalls, the alternator is bad... that is why the battery is dying.
