Default 95 accord lx ac

hi everyone, I have a 95 accord lx (4cylinder). I have a question regarding the temperature of the air coming out of the vents when the climate control knob is on cool. I notice with mine, the air coming out is a little warmer than the outside air even though the knob is all the way onto the blue (to the point where i can't turn anymore) and the setting is for outside air. Reason i'm concerned is that it may be warming the air coming from the air conditioning unit. It blows cool but not cold. Any thoughts would be appreciated. thanks

This is absolutely common for all Honda's unfortunately. In the 2000 model (digital climate controls), I am able to turn off the fans while keeping the vents open though.

The temperature knob runs a cable attached to air damper doors, and ultimately to a water valve on a heater hose. Maybe a cable is broken or disconnected? Then the REAL problem is your heater is on all the time.

on my 97 accord this actually happened in the winter and it wouldnt blow heat and then it happened a month n a half ago and wouldnt blow cool. lol. but all i did in mine was ziptie down the cable running from the knob to the valve so it would actually pull the door open and not just turn back and forth. if that made sense you can do it like this on my car:

unscrew the 2 hinges on the bottom of glove box and the on screw on the side of the glove box (when it is open) holding the cable supporting it.

look up under the dash and turn the knob or slide it and find the slipping wire and ziptie it down. that fixed it for me.

if it happens again the zip tie may have come loose, but i hope this helps

Default thanks

I think what happened was the knob was cracked and therefore had a little bit of play in it. when i turned to cool it wasn't actually all the way over although it looked like it did. I bought new knobs and my ac feels cooler. Thanks for helping.

If you haven't bought one yet, take off the knob and put a zip tie around the shaft. It may have a little play, but if you yank the tie around hard enough it works perfect. Kind of cheap way to fix but it works.
