Default Taking Tail Lights Apart

I really want to get rid of my Altezzas but right now just hate the look of my stock tails also. I want to take the orange reflector out for sure and found a way to do this using a solder gun through the light bulb hole.. but is there an easier way? I really want to take them apart but is there a way to do this? Also any cool ideas would be much appreciated.

I wouldn't recomend taking them apart if you can avoid it. If you were to take them apart, 3 minutes in a 300 degree oven works well. Might have to reheat them as the silicone hardens up. Don't rush it becuase the plastic will crack. Slow and easy is the name of the game.

personally hate altezza tails. i hate what toyota created. but if you like it, its your car, so do what you want!

i'm planning on trying to take apart 94/95 tail lights too, so i can remove the orange reflector easier. i also want to add another light in the top... the upper red stripe. i got a spare set, in case i destroy anything beyond repair...

what i wonder is if they'll melt. headlights can endure extreme heat because they need to be able to handle it under normal driving conditions anyway. corners will melt if you put them in an oven (a friend of mine tried). i'm guessing tail lights aren't made to withstand extreme heat either. oh well, we'll see! thats what the extra pair is for..

try 200 degrees... it just takes longer, but you'll have less chance of melting them. I removed my amber piece by seperating the lights... just when you "bake" them, put the studs on a cookie sheet, not the face of the lens.

I used a dremmel to my stock orange reflector and then used some black transparent paint on the middle bar to smoke it. Soon, I'm going to use window tint on the middle bar so it'll stay longer.

just break the yelloy part, stabb it w/some thing
then crunch the pieces with a pliers and pull out what u can
and vacuum out the rest of small little pieces

it would be good if u could if u could take the yellow piece out without taking apart the lense like every one said

I removed the amber on my 94 tail lights by using a pair of dykes and needle nosed plyers to cut apart the orange and remove it through the bulb hole piece by piece. It took about 30 min but wasn't too dificuilt.
