Default New Accord Owner

Hello Everyone...

Been monitoring this board and it seems to be a great place to "hang out." I just recently purchased an 2003 Honda Accord EX Coupe. I know there are mixed emotions about this new model of the Accord but I seem to like it a lot. It has the luxury look and the reliability of an Honda.

I also have a 1995 Camaro Z28 but that seems to be going down the crapper. I'll save what I can with the Camaro for power but rely on the durability and the reliability of my new car. :-)

I was thinking of the V6 model but until I get rid of the Camaro, I'll think conservative.....at least for now ;-)

Hello, is your accord a manual or an auto?? hm.....personally, if your car is an automatic, i woulda gotten teh v6. With an auto, i would need the extra 80 hp and the V6 still gets very very good miles per gallon......but just my $.02 but nice to see ya! welcome aboard.

I went through a debate with my self on deciding on the I4 or the V6. I decided to go with the I4 only because there is a 3mpg difference for my commute. My commute consist of driving 60.2 miles which takes me an hour and 15 minutes though some heavy traffic. With that said, I risk losing 51.3 miles per tank from going to the V6. I guess if I really want power, I'll stick to the Camaro....but who knows how long that is going to last.

A manual would have been really really great!! But given the above situation, I settled for the automatic. I still like the autos though...esp since they bumped it up to 5 gears instead of the 4. But don't remind me about six gears on the manual!!!

Anyway, I don't have much plans for this thing but to keep it clean. The interior of this Accord is flawless...flowing lines, non-squeak (like my Camaro) materials, gauge placements, button/radio alignment, the improved seats and the ultimate feature for me....lumbar support!!!

I do, however, would want to lower it and get some rims...but the same size because I like the ride quality. The suspension on this thing is top notch for stock.

The pictures will come soon enough...I just need to find a nice background for it.

IMO i think you should've got the v6 manual, but its your decision, you say that you will just leave it alone, and only put same size rims, well, i think as with most people you will be bit by the fever, rims will just be a start

good luck on your quest, and yes i am quite envious :-D

take care man

Trust me, I wanted the V6 too...but I really had to limit myself. One of these days, I'll get there. As far as the "fever"....I had that fever with my Camaro. Maybe I'm just getting old...
