Default power steering

um.....my power steering thingy was making a weird noise yesterday and parts of today, then i notice the sound went away. i also notice that steering was like there was no power steering at all, so i popped the hood only to find the fluid all over the place. think there was a leak or a bad pump or what? any ideas?

while it was still making sound, i checked the resevoir and there was still fuild swooshing around. but then today not to long ago i was driving then i notice the power steering was completely gone. so i popped the hood and the fluid was everywhere. yes i remember to replace the cap earlier, it was still on, but the fuild was basically puddled on the bottom of the bumper, and the side fender where it makes like a lil cliff. more of it was towards the front. didn't see any in the back.

Well, fill up your resovoir with something but don't turn your car on. If it leaks, your resovoir is cracked. If not, it's your pump. That's the lazy man's way of doing it. Or, you could take it apart and find out.

I have absolutely no idea. If noone else knows or you don't feel like waiting, get yourself a Helms repair manual or the like.
