Default question about my exhaust (sound)

hi so i have an 01 accord v6.. and the only performance mod i have on it is exhaust from the catback.. the pipes are 2.5 inches and the muffler outlets are 4.5..

it is a very deep low growl but when my engine goes more than around 2500 to 3000 rpm's it just gets quiet like the exhaust just cuts off.. i was wondering if this was because my exhuast tips were so big? like if i got smaller ones it would be a consistant higher pitched rumble? (i have the silencers on too, but im pretty sure it did the same thing when they were off)

my accord is automatic too which may mean something..

let me know what ya think.. thanks

What kind of a muffler is it? Brand name? Universal Canister?
