Default exhaust problem H22 Accord

if u have a h22 accord... i was just wondering how u did ur exhaust pipes. my shop says that the header from the h22 is longer than the original on the accord. they might have to cut or something? also i think that mineke (sp?) butchered my pipes from the catalitic converter back to the muffler. the shop said that i proly just get a new headers, new cat converter and hook up the exhaust i want. i was just wonderin if any of u had this type of problem or is it just my bad luck. or if any one had any advice for the exhaust system.
thankz in advance!

chop some of the mid section pipe just past the cat (about 6" to a foot) and just push the cat back some..... (I have heard of this being done, not done myself though)

This is what I had done. It's also would be a good idea to replace the cat with a smaller high flow one. The accord cat is so big and since you move it back there are no hangers for it to hold it up.

I had the flange cut off my header and about a 1ft pipe welded onto it (w/ the flange rewelded at the end, where it attaches to the cat). In 5g Accords this has to be done. Make sure that they either install a flex joint or a flex pipe. If not your exhaust will snap in half.. Don't ask me how I know.

I just cut the header down pipe to then cut the flange off of the accord header bolted it to the cat and put the header on and drove to a muffler shop and then then weldthe accord flange to the prelude header.

I got my exhaust piping shortened and moved the cat back. I had to reweld a new flange to bolt up to the prelude headers. My headers already had the flex piping. as for hangers, I'm missing a few but the exhaust still hangs fine.

I used a 95 JDM H22a - 97+ Prelude DC Sports Header, 92-96 Prelude High-Flow Cat and a 94-97 Accord Hyper Medallion Exhaust
