im doing shocks and springs too,so i was wondering about the stands

 

well....i dont know about installing springs/shocks...but when i had to put my car on stands i jacked it up on the sheet metal right next to the support that ur SUPPOSED to jack the car up on. then i quickly put the jack stand under the right spot and let the jack down. then did that to the other side.

is it secure there, or is it going to like rip a hole in my car?

 

its secure where that small "ledge" is. But in order to get a jack stand under there, you need to JACK it up right next to it. Its not recommended to do it there, but nothing has bent on my car because of that. Do it at your own risk. I'm just giving advice from experience.

same question for me, i wanna know what special tools are need and the cost. whats the cost of a spring compressor?

go to autozone and rent one for free...You put down a 50 dollar depoisit and get it back when you return the tool....

If you dont use a spring compressor you can be killed. But I've heard of guys losening the stuff twoards a box so they can catch all the stuff. This is while another guy stands on the spring so it doesnt shoot away. A 6 pound spring under compression that shoots away can and will kill you if you get hit in the head.
