**Does it make sense to convert drum to disk at all?**
I just wanted to throw a question out there that some of us might have wondered. Is it possible to convert the rear drum brakes to disk brakes? Will it make any kind of sense? I know it looks better. But is it worth the trouble if at all? How much will it improve stopping power in the rear? Most of the stopping power is in the front correct?

and yes its better because disc brakes have better stopping power than drum brakes.

will the emergency brake still work? U just wire it like the ex one right? But everything else is bolt on?
I would love to do this, i wonder how much i can get a set of ex disk brakes for. Probably better to go to a junk yard? I'm sure honda charges an arm for some.

Rear disc brakes won't dramatically improve braking performance. The only thing they'd be good for is if you autocross....drum brakes tend to fade very quickly. Rear discs are more of a cosmetic piece. In my opinion, I'd spend money to upgrade your front discs to something that is of larger diameter, where you'd notice the improvement the most.

i dunno about the ex rear discs, but there was a thread on a accord/CL(i think) rear disk conversion. try running a search. the search button is your friend.

correction, no it doesn't make that much of a difference except for cosmetically. 90% of your stopping power comes from the front brakes.

but..yeh...i agree with ya on the fact that the front takes more of the stopping power. Its not only cosmetic but because i dont like dealing with drum pads versus disk pads. and i'll like the improvment in braking power when using my hand brake....that'll make a difference!
