enexpensive way to stop my trans from slipping
i get a 96 accord and the transmission is starting to slip is there any enexpensive ways to fix it. cuz i am not going to have the car that long i am moving and my brother in law is going to take it over and i dont wanna drop tons of money into it if i am going to leave. i just want to get it to shift from third to forth better than what it is doing now. by the way it is a auto. so just give me some advice.

i did that but it is still giving me the same prob. at first it was working cherry then a few months down the line it started acting up again could there be a leak...

those trannys are particularly rough. The programming of the transmission and locking mechanism are kinda harsh so theres a chance that there isn't a problem... still whens the last time you changed the fluid?

like a few months ago and i am bout to change it today after i get off work... i guess it is also wierd for me bcuz i always had 5speed and this is my first auto...

Early 90 to mid-90's i4 Accords have problem with the trans bump down shift. The tranny shifting up and down is very noticeable as if you're driving a manual. Specially, when you are slowing down going into a corner. It will shift down from 4th to 2nd. If you gas it, and the RPM is above 3k it will give you a little whiplash. I learned to eased down on the gas when I know the tranny will shift down to prevent the jerking. There are previous posting that maybe the same as you are experiencing.
