Default 2001 Accord Center Console

The light that illuminates the gears in the center console of my grandmother's 2001 Accord burned out and I was wondering if anyone might have some guide to get into the console to replace it or any other tips. Thank You.

First take off the small bezel around the shift lever. Then pull the cupholder straight up (everything has snaps for assembly).

Now you pull straight up on the larger panel surrounding the lever, including the pocket where the cupholder came from. All those stupid little clips make it feel like it's gonna break. Mine didn't... YMMV.

Now hopefully you can see a wire going to the light socket on the driver's side of the PRND panel. If you can't get it from there, you'll have to remove the ENTIRE console. There's a couple screws hidden under the floor of the storage compartment. Another couple screws on either side underneath the dashboard lower panels (which have to come out).

Thank you. I think I'll be able to do this.
