Default 98 accord alternator belt smoking PLEASE HELP

my 98 accord alternator belt is smoking I was told that the alternator is locking up, so i got the alternator rebuilt but the same thing is happening if anyone has an answer please tell me, thank u

Take the belt off & spin the alternator by hand. If they messed up the bearings you'll know it.

That leaves a couple possibilities for YOU to check out. We can't see it from here.
- How many cylinders? The belt arrangements are probably different.
- Alternator mounting is bent so belt isn't lined up straight?
- Something else is rubbing on the belt like an unrelated bracket?
- Alternator & AC compressor share the same belt and it's the compressor that is actually locking up?
