Gas Guage Problem
So, I've got a problem with my gas gauge. I searched the forums and found problems other people were having with theirs but I'm not convinced my problem is the same as the not registering a full tank issue.
To make a long story short, I took my gauge cluster out to remove ricer gauge covers. After reinstalling everything my gas gauge "doesn't work." I quote it because it works, it just doesn't register the correct amount. It says no matter what that I have an extremely full tank. The needle goes up as high as it can and stays there. I think maybe I screwed stuff up using a magnetized screw driver and maybe messed up the coil. Does that sound right? Could it be something else? It worked perfectly fine before I took it out.
Thanks for you help.

yeah. u must have pull the needle out when u were removing those face plates.
ur not suppose to. i'm pretty sure ur speedo is off too if u took the needle off of that. the rpm finds its way around usually.
i think the only thing you can do right now is go to a junk yard and get a different gas guage.
theres a way to adjust the speedo. if urs is not working right let me know. i'll tell you how to fix it (get it close)

Well, I didn't pull the needle off.. I simply cut the ricer things off. All my other gauges work perfectly. The gas gauge.. I should maybe have posted this in my first post, but if you move it down, when you start the car it slowly goes up (I'd say in about a minute) to the max position. I do suspect though that I'll still have to get a new gauge..
