My J35Z3 6MT Coupe (pics & commentary)
Here are some pictures of my 2008 Honda Accord EX-L V6 J35Z3 6-speed coupe.
The 2005 Toyota Celica GTS poses with the 2008 Honda Accord EX-L V6
Notice how aggressive the Accord front end is compared to the Celica
Exterior color is Polished Metal Metallic
The fastback styling looks sleek & sharp
Side view looks complete with 18" wheels
Modest lip spoiler keeps car low-key
Character line and body lines add style
The coupe has good, clean lines
Thankfully the top-mounted antenna is small and unobtrusive
This interior is Ivory leather with black trim
This is the richest interior in its class and the most comfortable - even for passengers.
This Accord coupe V6 6-speed got 19.5 mpg in its first 250 miles of easy break-in miles. Hopefully that will improve. I was hoping for about 22 mpg.
I located the engine code today on the front lower portion of the block. It says J35Z3 with a serial number below it. Honda plans on producing 4000 of these J35Z3 engines for 2008. All come with the 6-speed manual transmission.
As best I can tell, the J35Z3 equipped V6 manual Accords are differentiated from the J35Z2 equipped V6 automatic Accords by the following:
* Performance-tuned cold air intake system
* High-performance dual-stage intake manifold
* Performance variable intake valve timing
* Unique compression ratio
* Unique ECU tune
* Performance-tuned exhaust system
* 6-speed close-ratio manual transmission
* 3.55 axle ratio
The J35Z3 engine is a gem. It sounds and feels like a slightly detuned Mustang GT. It has a 1/4 mile ET of 1 mph slower than a Mustang GT: 101 mph versus 102 mph. Regardless of its technical specifications or numbers, this car is a joy to drive.

:rofl:
Very nice, never has the phrase "I would have sex with your car." been more deserved :hsugh:
Would never have guessed that someone who owned that Celica would also own a new Accord coupe. Either it isn't yours, or maybe your taste in cars has matured.

I helped my sister find the last new red Celica GTS in the country a few years ago. It's a nice car. It just has no torque.
She took the pictures with her digital camera, so she wanted her car in some of the pictures. :shrug:

I too test drove the 2008 Accord V6 automatic coupe. It didn't do anything for me in terms of performance.
Then I drove the 2008 Accord V6 6-speed manual and thought WTF? Did I get into the wrong car? It felt like I was driving a slightly detuned Mustang GT. I bought the car after the test drive.
