Get the CRV. 5 speed.
Get it at a good price so that you can buy the following:
New lighter rims and sticky tires.
Suspension dropped and stiffened up.
B18C or B16A head on the B20 block to add the nice VTEC performance. with I/H/E and any other goodies you want.
Turbo?
Take out any extra crap that you'll never use for weight reduction... (lighter/sportier seats?)

Then you'll have a grocery and Kiddie hauler that will HAUL...

Might give you alittle of both worlds there...

I dont know, SUVs are very convenient. Dont get me wrong I love Honda but my parents both own a Chevrolet Trailblazer and this car is great. Its got some power and its a great family car as well. To answer your question, I would go with the Accord if it was between those two because i'm not very thrilled at the new CRV. Accord Sedan is much nicer and has plenty of space.

i have no kid yet, but i got a niece. my bro has a four door accord, and he hardly uses it with his kid. With the CRV, it's easier to buckle em up cause you won't have to bend down, it'll be more at waist level. It's also be easier to get things like stroller's, or baby crib's outta the trunk, because you won't have to bend over to get things out from the back of the trunk, you can just slide it across, and again, it'll be at waist level. Why not keep the accord too, and buy the CRV!

You don't know your CR-Vs. The CR-Vs that came with the B20s don't have a 5-speed. The CR-Vs that have the 5-speed come with K24s. Fool. And stop telling him to mod a CR-V. In fact, just stop talking.

Anyway, I would say CR-V, or better yet, a Honda Element (same car, more room, funkier). If any of you have actually driven a new CR-V, you will know that it handles fine, and has a really smooth powertrain that pulls it well. In fact, it's the same engine as in the new Accord. The new CR-V also has a better crash safety rating according to the NHTSA than the 6th gen Accord, so I don't know how you people think an Accord is safer. The car can hold a lot more stuff than the Accord too, which is obvious. The CR-V is a much better choice; that said, I would hold out for the Element, which promises to be everything the CR-V has, but in a nicer package.

Ha Ha.
Why does everyone take everything so personally on this site?

JeffTypeR - No, I don't think I'll "stop talking". Relax bro. Can't recognize sarcasm when you see it huh?

TheDude - Yeah kids are expensive. Also modding the heck out of Accords and Civic's is expensive in case you didn't know. Just thought I'd share since it seems like "state the obvious" time.

yohbee - Good luck with your choice. Good luck w/the kids. SUV's are convenient as stated above. If you've never had one you'll wonder why you didn't get one sooner.
