I have a 04 sedan and I can open my trunk with the keyless entry and the driver side latch but i can't use the key in the actual lock mechanism. I pulled the rod that engages it and I found that the rod pops out of the trunk latch assembly. Theres a green fitting on the end that pops out but it doesn't look broken so I don't know what to do?

 

Take the green thingy off the rod, put it in the hole on the latch, they stick the rod in it and spin the plastic piece so it locks the rod in place.
