Default CEL on... D4 Light Blinks... HELP

ok. so its probably my fault, but the car is acting up. was driving it one day (beatin on it) and the issue started.

D4 light started blinking, then the CEL popped on. checked with a few forums and ppl, and they stated to check the codes. CEL is throwing code 17. D4 is throwing code 4. bad VSS.

i disconnected battery n fuses to reset. issue still persists.
bought a new VSS and put that one, reset power. issue still persists.
tried a diff TCM, reset everything (new VSS still in), issue still persists.
could it be the gearshaft thats connected to the VSS? the plug and wiring seem to be good. so im at a loss right now.

car shifts perfect and drives smooth, but the speedo and odometer dont work. please help me out. thanx

Check your fuses. I popped one in my 2k accord and got the same symps. I blew out one of my 15s on the driver's side.
I registered just to reply to this post, but I'm getting a good vibe from this forum.

thanks!
I hope its just the fuses, I panicked when got the blinking ring of death on my D4. But, after sitting back and troubleshooting for less than two minutes I figured it out. Good luck to you.
