Default clutch switch?

hi y'all...on my 95 accord...what is the purpose of the "clutch switch" (attached to locknut A on the diagram below) is this what others call the "clutch safety switch"? i detached its electrical connector when i adjusted the clutch pedal height and free play, but forgot to re-attach it. but the car still seemed to run and shift without any problems. then, after i re-attached its electrical connector, i sometimes hear it click when the pedal is pressed to the floor (e.g., the switch is no longer touching the pedal). is the clicking a bad sign? i don't notice anything wrong with the shifting or the way the car drives, other than the annoying click everytime i press the pedal to the floor. thanks for any input.

There could be 2 switches. One to cancel cruise control, the other so it only starts with the pedal depressed.
