**Wheel alignment and spinout...or colision??**
Ok, i have a problem.
I spun out in my car(dont ask)....and it seems somehow my alignment got messed up(in the front). Is this even possible? I thought alignment is messed up by hittin something hard, etc.
If you have any info on this, please let me know.
Also...if someone colided into my front wheel...whats the worse thing that could happen with the suspension? a bent front axle?
Thanks, Dave

Your alignment can be slightly altered by extremely heavy driving...which probably equates the force put on it such as that of hitting the hard object you speak about.
If someone collided with your front wheel (no damage to fender? why would your wheel just be turned and hit something?) anyway, it would be messed up. you'd have to get new upper/lower links, the subframe, axle, blah blah blah...
happened to me once. or twice.

i went 180 degrees b4 (dont ask long story) and i hit the curb with the rear of my car. while i was going 180 i tried my best to straighten out my car and my wheel stuck in one spot so i lost the alignment in my front just from the over steer alone not including what i did to the rear when my wheel hit the side walk. alignments are cheap and a simple fix
First of all i would like to th ank you guys for those posts. Helps alot!
Second, the deal was is that i spun out on the pavement and hit NOTHING.....a car hit me in the front right fender/bumper area. So i dont know how my alignment got messed up. I do have two lugnuts missing from that wheel as well.
The insurance rep said that the impact didnt go back as far as the wheel, just the bumper and fender and support beam or somethin like that. It cracked a head light mount as well. Total damage is a little above 1k.
The reason they arent fixing it is because it couldnt be a result of the impact. Is this true? Can spining out affect the alignment and JUST the alignment? I dont want to pay mucho bux for fixing this afterwards. My car already needed a front alignment before the accident. But now its bad, you have to turn the steering wheel 45 degrees to make the car go straight.
I"m just trying to find out some preliminary info before the car gets out of the body shop, thanx!
