Default Need to know what part this is....

I was just looking under the hood to see if theres any more stuff i need to fix on my 89 accord exi and i found a piece that is holding the transmission to the car. Its on the left hand side and it looks like some sort of round rubber piece. Its seriously cracked so i need to replace it ASAP but i have no clue what its called or maybe its just the wrong piece installed? Sorry if my description of it sucks. I cant find it anywhere on the net. Thanks

That's a transmission mount. Cracks on the outside are normal, all rubber does that with aging. Inspect for cracks that go all the way through it.

Unless you notice a lot of vibration in the steering wheel or the whole car while it's at idle(warm), I wouldn't worry about it.

If it's an auto, it's not necessarily bad to feel a little vibration in the steering wheel once you put the trans. in D, etc. but if it's really harsh or you can feel, or even see, the rest of the car vibrating than you've got at least 1 or 2 mounts that are in need of replacing.

Default vibration

I have noticed heavy vibration when in "D" when i received the car earlier this year... i changed the transmission oil since when i looked, the fluid level was very low and some of the vibration and pulling between shifts softened up alittle. I was planning on changing the front engine mount since when i poked it, it cracked even more... lol.
Does anyone know how many mounts there are holding the engine and transmission to the car?
I will post back with results after changing the mounts.
Thanks for all the feedback!
