Default MP3 player?

Greetings,

My 02 Accord EX has the factory stereo/cassette/6-disc in-dash CD changer. I'm looking into various options to be able to play MP3's. For the short term, I spent about $50 online and got one of those FM transmitters that plugs into the cigarette lighter and can read SD cards. But I'm thinking about what to do for the long term (going to ask for something for Christmas, mwahahah). Does Honda make a version of the 6-disc changer system that can read MP3 CDs? I was looking at a double-din Pioneer unit that has a cassette player and a single-disc CD player that can read MP3 CDs, but I'd sure love to have the 6-disc changer if possible (without having to have a separate trunk- or glove-box-mounted changer). And yes, I do have a lot of cassettes, which is why I'd like to keep a cassette player if possible. Some of Mazda's factory systems are modular; I had a Mazda6 a while back where I replaced the factory in-dash 6-disc CD changer with a single-disc MP3 player. Don't know if Honda's systems are similar or if they're all integrated into a single unit.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

A stock option for an 2002 is not out there. But there are a tun of aftermarket stereo systems that support mp3s.

If I were you, I would just cut my loses and go with an aftermarket head unit. You would lose the 6 disc capabilities and you wouldnt have a cassette player but you could at least hold 100's of songs on an mp3 player or an mp3 disc.

I'm thinking CDs with MP3 files on them, not an iPod. I did see a Pioneer unit that has a single CD and a cassette player. It'd be nice to have the cassette AND in-dash CD changer with the ability to read MP3's, but such an animal doesn't seem to exist. If I have to pick between losing the changer or the cassette, I'd rather lose the changer. Another option is a single-DIN head unit with a cassette player that can control a separate CD changer, and there are changers that can read MP3's. But then I'd lose glove box or trunk space for the changer, and I'd rather not have to deal with an external changer. Yes, I'm picky

i'd say get a cassette player and get a cd changer w/ it. they now make even smaller cd changers. and u can get one w/ aux. input, where u can hook up ur ipod in.
