Default Average Honda Accord Idling RPM

What is the average Idling RPM of a 2005 Honda Accord. I have been getting around 600-700 at a full stop on drive, and around 700 on Neutral?

Sounds good. Do you think you are high idling?

my 92 is about there after it warms up. anything under the 1000 isnt that accurate on these tachs. that seems normal.

As long as it idles OK, doesn't stall, & it comes up when you press the gas. If all of that's true, you want it to idle as low as possible. Much below 700 you'll find AC & the larger electrical loads will disturb the idle too much.

Sometimes people want to bump their idle up to 1000 or more just to avoid having to clean & adjust the idle control system properly.

Another reason might be a performance camshaft won't idle well at all under 1000 rpm.

Hrmmm

That's cool. My car seems to be okay...so around 600-700 is normal right?

I wouldn't jump to conclusions until using an external tachometer that has some accuracy down in that range.

And... notice that the tic-mark for 500rpm is really close to the zero peg, so you also have to be careful how you read it.

If it works good, then it's good.
