Default heater hose replacement

I have a 1996 accord LX 4 door. Quick question, do I need to drain the coolant before I change my heater hose? Thats the hose that goes from the engine (right under the distributor) to the heater valve. Thank you

Well, If you don't mind a spill, just remove the hose and replace it. Fill up and burp the cooling system when you're done. I have a drain pain that is 4 feet x 3 feet made from a bedliner and rolls on bearings. I drain coolant as I remove the part to be serviced then I make sure I clean up when I'm done. Saves tons of time and mess.

Default little mess

I pulled the hose today and about 1-2 cups of coolant dripped out. So all in all much better than draining the whole thing. Thanks
