floating speedometer

Default floating speedometer

title says it all... my speedo floats up when i accellerate but tells the actual speed when cruising or idle drops when clutch is not engaged... so whats the deal?... speedo cable, speedo gear? wtf

i have no idea what a 'floating speedometer' is supposed to imply.

our bmw once did that. It turned out to be a loose fuse. When cruising I guess it would fall in place, and when you accelerated, the speedometer would bounce around like crazy

These have an electronic speed sensor mounted on the transmission. Have the system diagnosed.

Hey there friend. I own a digi camo 92 honda accord. (speedo did what yours is doing about 3 months ago. Recently however, it has moved on to bigger and more annoying malfunctions. Now the speedo, tach, temp. gauge, and power windows all stop working for days at a time. I have no AC. Ya it is fun. OKay, so I am thinking loose cable somewhere. Next time it does it check your windows, tach, and temp. gauge. Anyone with any ideas of where to find that magical wire, let us know. THanks Kansas Honda.

a bunch of fuses and change the main relay.

speed sensor. is it ur rpm or speed needle?
