Default Idle Surging/speedo Probs

I have a '95 Accord LX, 4 cyl, with automatic transmission. Recently, my speedometer stopped working, the shift light started blinking, check engine light came on, and it started idling unusually low and had idle surges from time to time. I read another thread posted from a girl that was having the same probs except for the idle surges, and I believe that replacing my VSS would fix the speedo/S-light/engine light probs, maybe even the low idling. Another thread gave me some info about the idle surges--possibly vacuum connections, coolant levels, IACV or EGR valves. BUT does anyone have an opinion as to whether the idle surges are related to the VSS or a completely separate problem? If anyone has any info it would REALLY REALLY help a girl out. Thanks!

your yr of accord along with the check engine light and shift light flashing would point to the vss. replace that. yes idle speed influences the shifting pattern. try the vss easy to replace. known problem with your gen of accord.

Jump the SCS connector and retrieve the DTC. This is where I would start.

check engine light is your friend. get the code and u know the problem. If the speedo is acting up and there is no check engine light then it would be the vss lose, but since the light came on most likely the vss need to be replace (very simple job) and probably something else for the idle problem.
