Default newbie intro.......and question

hi guys thought i would introduce my self as u can guess im in the uk and have just got hold of a 95 honda accord 2.0 ex .not in the best condition but didnt spend much on it .

rite first question i have a prob with i think the factory alarm. when i turn the ignition it beeps and i cant start the engine at all .and b4 u say no i dont have any of the original manuals to c were everything is.so can any one help with wat i need to look for or wat the prob poss be and is there any were i can get more info from.

if you want, look for the brain of the alarm and disconnect the big plug thats there. That will disable the alarm and you can try starting it then. It should start up if not then the problem ma be more than the alarm.

cheers for the reply ............thats the thing i ve been lookin for the brain of the alarm but so far havnt found it ............were abouts does it normally live and wat is it most likly to loook like ??????

the car is not going to start if you disconnect the alarm.

Im pretty sure the stock alarms are placed near th efuse box by he drivers side if not, you may have to get under your dash and reach up by the firewall for the brain.

my friends alarm would go off for any number of reasons so we unplugged the alarm brain and the car works fine.

Most alarms have a fail safe if the brain fails you can just disconnect it and continue using your car without an alarm.

if you find it and disconnect it and your car doesnt start then plug it back in and we'll keep thinking whatelse it can be.

cheers for that been unplugging bits in that area but havnt found it yet so will have to keep trying and mayb i'll get lucky

i think at the moment its the immobeliser that is givin me the prob so if all else fails i'll have to find some way of by passing it but at the moment not sure were to start but will have a look at the weekend .

when you start up the car do you see a key image flashing on your dashboard?
