Where did you unplug them? back in the trunk?

Look above the brake pedal. There's a switch controls those lights. A button on the pedal lever is supposed to push in the switch to turn them OFF.

Button fell off the pedal?
Switch came loose from it's bracket?
Bracket bent or broken?
Switch broken?

I unplugged them from inside the trunk. I have a book that said there was a switch at the top of the brake pedal, I cant seem to find it???
Do you think that my brake light on the dash being on may have anything to do with it? low brake fluid?

Look for #18 near top-center of picture. You may have to remove some trim panels under the dash.

Warning lamp is probably not related. It could be low fluid or a flaky switch on the handbrake lever.
