i got a 92 accord and i was driving and it just bogged down and when i stopped it shut off. it has gas, has oil, battery is fine, there was no smoke i dont know what it can be. it will turn over but it wont start

 

like when u turn the ignition to start the engine would run but when you let the key go it shuts?

try holding it @ the start position (not for long, like 10 secs) and let it go extremely slowly, until it reaches "on" position.

if the motor dies w/ the starter, then i'm not sure what it could be, but if it dies a little bit after the starter goes out and your still letting the key go, then its your ignition.

same thing happened in my brother's car, it took me a while while to figure out.

 

when u go to start it. it turns over but it just keeps turning over the motor will not turn on. imagine like your out of gas and your car just wont start up because you have no gas. it turns but it doesnt start

 

Did it overheat?

Sparkplugs, wires, cap/rotor, Fuel Filter, Main Fuel Relay

 

no didnt over heat. car wasnt even that hot. no moke, no nothing

 

how many miles and when was the tune-up done last time?

 

118,000 and tune up was done a year and ahalf ago

 

Sounds like the fuel pump to me. When you turn only the battery on do you hear a noise that sounds like a pump pushing fuel? Usually it comes from the left rear of the car somewhere.

 

OK when it dyes you need to check to see if you have spark. If you don't lean for the igniter or the distributer.You also need to see if your fuel pump is running. If not lean for the main relay. If you can check fuel psi. If its 0 lean for the fuel pump. Bump your ignition switch if it dyes lean for your ignition switch.

Is the cel on?

Start there get more info on the problem. I say lean because I will help you diag in more depth when we get more info.

 

check to see if you are getting spark at all. If not, it may be your distributor.
