Default 2004 Accord Radio Display and HVAC Button Lights

I have seen many threads on here pertaining to the radio display problem and they seem to say that the display is completely out. You can still see the display on mine but it's very dim. You have to look real close to it to see the temp, radio station, etc. The lights for all of the AC/Heat controls went out at the same time. I'm pretty sure that this is the same problem as with everyone else. I just wanted to confirm before I took it in and they tried to stick me with unwarranted charges.

TIA,

Richard

Same happened to me. Everything worked fine, but no light. Went to the dealer. They are aware of this problem. Headunit was replaced for free. I paid $80 Can for the labour. A few weeks back got a letter from Honda. They are reimbursing the money i paid for the labor and extending radio warranty till 7years or 160 000 km, whichever comes first.

Try this first.
Press and hold the CD button for 5 seconds. Once you hear a beep the display should come back.
If this does now work, take it to a dealer. There's a problem with the radio

Thanks vlad666 and blacknight07601. I took it in to the dealer and they confirmed it was the same problem as everyone else is having. Got them to fix it free of charge since Honda's extending the warranty on the radio.
