interesting short story. lucky you.

there is around 4 HP to gain with any aftermarket intake. lets not forget increasing your MPG +1/2 miles knowing that your engine can breathe around 75% better.

I would never gamble with a CAI. I Commute a lot and I cant afford to buy a new motor. although i seen other motors I would certinly drop in my Accord.

I install my short ram last weekend and the sound is awesome. You can feel a hugh difference as far as acceleration. It is well worth the 28 bucks I paid off of ebay. I don't know what other people say, but the generic brand work just as well as the branded ones.

oh yeah. and dont get the cheap mushroom filter, buy the one that looks like a very wide drinking glass.

that mushroom will suck in a lot more than just the air.

I have an AEM CAI on my 6th Gen. It produces a nice sound and I'd say around 4 hp. Also, gas mileage improves a good ammt. The CAI isn't going to f#$k you up unless you try to drive through a river. Normal rain/snow/big puddles aren't going to hurt you. Standing water=bad. But yeah go for a quality intake and filter. Even though aem anfd K&N filters don't need to be replaced, they do need to be claened and oiled every so often. I've been running my CAI for 3+ years now with 0 problems.

Eh, $28 bucks for an intake...i don't know I paid well over $150 for mine...remember, more often then not you get what you pay for.

I havent notice anything positive about any aftermark intake on a stock accord other than it sound nice.
If anything, I think I lost power especially at high end. and the MPG is the same to me. I always keep my car on top shape when it comes to the engine, but it also depends how hard you drive and where u do the driving and also the psi in your tires. The best I done is 33MPG driving with no hurry. I do 500miles on a full tank in the highway that is. daily driving here in nyc I get like 23mpg with aggressive driving.
I regret so much getting rid of my stock intake.
