Its a 50/50 chance and people say on high mileage to not do it as some of that carbon and deposits is what keeps the motor running so well.

Current it doesn't burn and real amount of oil... 1/4 quart after 3k miles. But it does have alot of CHATTER... what is that a symptom of?

Chatter from the valves? Probably needs a valve adjustment.

Default SeaFoam?

I have a buddy that re-built his own honda civic and swears by seafoam. Hes had lots of friends that have used it and claim that, "When used properly it increases engine reponse and power by 50%."

But ive heard horror stories. In some cases the carbon crap thats in the engine covers bad seals. If you take it off the bad seals are once again exposed and not designed to handle the pressure or oil of the engine and start major leaks or engine damage.

I've never seen this first hand, only hear say. I've heard more good than bad and I'm considering trying this seafoam myself , i just have no experience with the chemical and what it does or how to use it properly.

Does anyone have first hand experience actually using the stuff?

yea i use it all the time and love it. Get a bottle throw 1/3 in the crankcase 1/3 in the intake and 1/3 in the gas tank and it will increase gas mileage without a doubt. i went from 18mpg when I first got the car w/o seafoam to 26mpg w/ seafoam. I have never had any problems but my car only has 75k on it so I really don't know the effects on a high mileage car. It is a great cleaner but it has some harsh detergents in it so it definetly could effect seals and what not on older cars i would imagine.
