Default Sportmax wheels on 96 Accord Lx?

Ok so im planning on selling my 16" royal bronze c8 and buy some sport max wheels. I was planning on putting either the 962 17x9 with a 3" lip or the 18x7.5 with a 2.25" lip but first of all I've never seen an accord with wide rims usually cause of rubbing. I know of a guy who is running his 91 civic hb with some 15x8 rims and no modifications were done on his car. so my question is will these wheels fit my accord with a 1.75 drop or will I have some huge problems.

What gen?

Second, what offset are these rims you are looking at? an 8"rim may fit if you have a +45mm offset on say a 5th or 6th gen.

I would really stick with a 17x7 or 17x7.5 rim. 18x7.5 or 18x7 might be ok.

a 17x8 rim may fit as long as you use a proper offset and say a 225 or 235 tire on say a 6th gen.
