check engine light
I already know what the problem is with my 99 accord ex. Is there a way to turn off the check engine indicator light?

I just bought the car and it passed smog just fine. I took it into the dealer and was told I need a new cat converter. Sounds strange to me. How can I need a new converter when it passed smog?

Go to Autozone and have them read the code for you, then come back and let me know what it is

Take the negative cable off the battery for a couple minutes, and see if it comes back

That I didnt get from the dealer. I wish I had asked for it. $62.50 just to get that!
I just called the dealer and they are going to look up the hard copy and get me the code. She was surprised it wasnt already on my invoice.

It's VERY common. I bet if you had searched P0420, many threads would have came up.
