Default 97 accord ex electrical problem

I have a 97 accord ex and the lights on the a/c panel stay on [only a couple of them ] when the ingnition is turned off. Some times you can get it to go off by pulling the hood release cable and when that dont work I have to remove the battery cable because it drains the battery. Has anyone heard of this?

The only thing I can think of is a possible short in the dash cluster. I don't know much about the 5th gen accords, but is it relatively easy to remove the climate control cluster? If so, I'd try to remove it and see if there's a loose positive lead or something.

yes the blower motor will run when the lights are on and the ignition is off. Its a couple of the buttons that are still lite not the back lighting.

I was wrong all of the panel lights light up when you push the buttons. If I pull the blower relay the blower quites working but the lights stay on.Another thing I noticed is if you put your body pressure anyware on the car or tap the car anyware with your fist the lights flicker and blower cuts out, I cant find any loose or bare wires anyware.

Not exactly the same here, but my a/c lights (no motor or anything else, just the LED indicators behind the buttons) stay on very very slightly (you can barely see it @ night after you turn off the car) when the car is turned off. Any thoughts on this one? Anyone else have this problem?

for some reason the most weird things happen to the 5th gen accord and it is always something extremely simple. anything electrical the dealer can fix within minutes if they want.

when my 5th gen electrical thinging went crazy, I just replace every single fuse relay motor and light bulb. so far no problems ever since.

I unplugged the ingnition switch while the key was out and the blower and the lights still stayed on.
