Default 98 Accord Clock/HVAC Bulb Cheap FIX

Had 4 dead bulbs so things were lQQking kinda dark in there so called Honda for prices on the bulbs.... YIKES! About $25 total for 5 lamps. Sooooo, cheapo bastard that I am, I went to Radio Shack and purchased just the glass part and rewound them into the plastic holder of the 4 for less than 5 bucks. Found the one for under the blower control at the local auto parts for under $3.

I recommend reading glasses iffin you're old like me though, them's some small wires.

Radio Shack Part # 727-1092

Not sure which bulbs you're referring to. But, for my '01 Accord, the clock bulb was under $2. As for the other bulbs, I found a set #194 at walmart and #74 at a car parts store for under $3 for a set of 2.

I used a 3mm led(w/resistor) to replace the stock one. It looks much better. Led conversion instruction for 6th gen Accord: http://www.v6performance.net/forums/...ght=clock+bulb

Sam, thanks much for the LED conversion link. I was thinking about how to accomplish that when the bulbs burn out next time and happy somebody saved me the trouble of testing my gray (in my case very gray) matter on OHMS Law. I was looking at LED's on eBay that are resisted to 12 volts but was worried they might not handle charge voltages from the alternator. The light scheme in the forum examples lQQks great and if I weren't currently involved stripping & polishing my stock wheels I might be tempted. At my ripe old age there are plenty of other projects (like eating to stay healthy) keeping me occupied.
