Default 98-02 auto tranny interchangeable?

My 98 accord auto tranny is acting up, only 82k at the moment. It jerks when come to a stop, or shift from reverse to drive. I did fluid change with honda atf, replaced solenoids with new parts, no use. Dealer quote $3000 for a reman, too much for me. If I could find a low mile 99-02 tranny, can I put it in my 98?

yes, they will work. go to a junkyard, you can find some in decent shape. some people are selling their used AT trannys, cuz they switch out to a 98-02 accord manual tranny or the cl-s tranny (CL-S engine swap)

Do u have a automatic and looking for a auto tranny or are u looking to convert? I had a auto to 5-speed conversion on my 1999. I am using a 98 tranny from a coupe on my 1999 sedan. It should work. just make sure u get a ecu from a 5 speed.
