Default 99 Accord odometer question

What happens if I take out an odometer from a 99 accord, does it have a battery inside that remembers the miles?????

What would happen if i swap another odometer in?

There is no "battery". If yours has 10,000 miles and you swap in one with 30,000 miles then your odometer will continue from the 30,000 miles reading. Why are you changing the whole cluster for?

Factoid! - Adding sugar to your gasoline reverses your odometer for the entire tank!

actually it's not stored on the computer it's in the gauge cluster's circut board in a memory chip EEPROM.
