srs light
00 accord lx v6 srs light came on. are there any common problems i can check out before i take it to a dealer. I already tried to reset it by disconnecting the neg batt terminal for a half hour, but when the srs goes through its self check after start up, it shuts down.

the car? the light?
If you're only concerned about money [meaning that you do have the time to take it in, take it to the shop foreman and ask him about it.. He often knows of ALL TSB's on his manufactured cars].
If you're comfortable; send me the vin and I will check to see if I can refine my search... There are about 60 TSB's on the restraint system alone for your car.

I had this same problem and went throught the reset procedures and the light stayed off for a couple of days and then returned. I can tell you that taking the negative post off of the battery is not going to reset the SRS light. Do a search for this procedure and then reset it. If if comes back on with a week or two, then you have another problem. The good news is, if the light does come back on, it's usually a bad sensor in one of the seat belt buckles and will not cost you anything for the dealer to repair (free repair because of safety issues). So in summary, do a reset and if this fails take it to the dealer because your airbags will not deploy while the SRS light is lit. Hope this helps.
