Default Help kill my alarm?

Hey All,

I have a 98 Honda Accord EX Coupe V6. I have had an ongoing problem for about 3 years. I have an aftermarket alarm and a factory installed alarm. My alarm goes off at random times of the day and night. Sometimes 5 times in one day. I have had it into the dealer like 10 times. The aftermarket guys blame the factory alarm, and the dealer blames the aftermarket system. I don't care what the problem is I just want to disconnect both alarms.

Can some one tell me how to disconnect both a factory and aftermarket alarm system. Please help end my frustration.

Thanks,
Josh

Do you have a shock sensor on the aftermarket alarm?

I have a valet switch but it is busted. All part of the lameness that has been my dealing with this alarm.

And yes it has a shock sensor, if it is armed and I close my trunk to hard it beeps at me as a warning.

I guarantee you your shock sensor is set to sensitive. Mine was on my old car, and the slightest thing would set it off. Try adjusting the sensitivity to the point where only a very hard shock will set it off... i.e. someone breaking a window

Well; it seems you should just take your car to the place where your aftermarket alarm was installed, and ask them to remove all of the components... then take it to the dealer and see if they will fix your factory stuff.

The aftermarket was put in at the dealership. The issue I have with taking it in is that they want to charge me $80 an hour, with a one hour minimum to disconnect the whole thing. To me that is a ripoff since they couldn't figure out how to fix it in the first place.

Well Josh, I hate to be the one to inform you of this... but they have the upper hand. You can try to remove it yourself, and break something [which will indefinately cost more than $80]. Or you can go to them and pay them $100 bucks to remove it. An alarm install takes about an hour; an alarm uninstall should take less, assuming no complications.

Why do you have to go to the dealership?
